Robert Nowotny, candidate for Texas State House from the Comal County area, will be a special guest at the August Business Meeting of the Travis County Libertarian Party. A variety of pundits have suggested that Mr. Nowotny has the best chance for a Libertarian victory in a partisan race this fall. On Tuesday August 3rd please come to the TCLP Business meeting (or the informal dinner that will take place afterwards) to learn more about this unique opportunity and how you can help Robert get elected to the Texas State House.
TCLP Business Meeting, 7 PM, Old Quarry branch Library, 7501 Village Center Drive
TCLP Informal Dinner, 8:30 PM, El Arroya Restuarant, 7032 Wood Hollow
Six more Libertarians were nominated at District Conventions on March 20th joining the 18 nominees selected at the recent County Convention. The 24 local nominees is a new record for Travis County Libertarians. Meanwhile local Republicans will only have 18 names on this November’s general election ballot.
The TCLP also saw growth in convention delegates as well as members willing to serving as Precinct Captains. Many of the new delegates were first time voters. Of the new libertarians, many claimed to have been Libertarian since they were politically aware. Others have come from one of the older parties having decided that the Libertarian Party better reflects their political values.
If you want to get active with our party, please let us know. We have an immediate need for more Precinct Captains, part-time campaign staffers and financial backers. Even if all you can do for now is vote for our candidates, it would be a pleasure to hear from you.
Six local district conventions will be held Saturday, March 20, starting at 1:00 p.m.
